9 Troubleshooting

The letters in the left of the inspection items indicate the P.C.Boards or Modules related to their respective descriptions. Note:

The letter of the alphabet indicates the P.C.Board or Module name. (Example) A: A-P.C.Board, B: B-Module

If replacing A-P.C.Board (assembly), read the ROM data from the old P.C.Board and write it in the new one according to the section 8.6. "Software for Adjustment". At this time, if the readout from the old PC.Board does not succeed, remove IC1011 and IC1017 from the old PC.Board and install them on the new one. Then, execute the self-check according to the chapter 3. "Self-Check Mode", and confirm "G SAVED" and "U-SAVED" display "OK".

If replacing A-P.C.Board (assembly), minimize the flicker according to the chapter 5. "Flicker Adjustment Mode". If replacing A-P.C.Board (assembly), adjust the RGB Input Level according to the chapter 8.8. "Input Level Adjustment".

If replacing A-PC.Board (assembly), set Model Information according to the chapter 8.9. "Model Information Setup".

The projector does not become standby mode. (The power indicator does not illuminate red.)

Confirm every connector is connected and the lamp unit cover is installed properly.

Connect the connectors or install the cover properly.

Disconnect the connector A6, confirm no short circuit has occurred in the terminals below: A6: 1-2,4-3, 5-6, 8-9, 11-10

Confirm the fuse (F9101) has blown. At the same time, confirm no short circuit has occurred in the ZNR (D9101).

Confirm terminals between the thermofuse, which is a component of the cable between K-P.C.Board (connector K1) and P-Module (connector P1), is a short circuit. At the same time, confirm lead wires of the cable are conducted (no snapping).

I (FAN 14V) - 2: Check IC1029-IC1032, IC1072 and IC1085.

II (STB3.3V) -10: Check L1040, L1043 and L1048.

Replace F9101 and/or D9101, then « confirm the projector becomes standby mode. (If not, go to the next.)

Replace the cable, then confirm the projector becomes standby mode. (If not, go to the next.)

Nellcor Wire Connections

No lamp lights up. (LAMP indicator illuminates.;

Confirm every connector and the lamp unit are connected properly, and the lamp unit cover is installed. At the same time, confirm the lamp unit fixing screws are tightened.

Connect the connectors or install the cover properiy.

Confirm every thermosensor is normal.

Check every fan connector, if the connection is properly and the fan is not rotated, replace it. Then confirm the lamp lights up. (If not, go to the next.)

Replace abnormal thermosensor, then confirm the lamp lights up. (If not, go to the next.)

After keeping the power cord is unplugged for 3 minutes or more, plug in the power cord and press POWER button. Confirm the ballast to generate a high-voltage pulse train and emits a sparking sound.

When pressing the POWER button, connector A6 pin 12 changes from LOW to HIGH,

Confirm that no short circuit has occurred between connector P2 pins 1 and 3, (Normally, connector P2 pin 1 outputs 380 V + 20 VDC.)

Confirm that no short circuit has occurred between connector P2 pins 4 and 3. (Normally, connector P2 pin 4 outputs 15 V± 1 VDC.)

When pressing the POWER button, connector A4 pin 2 changes from LOW to HIGH.

Confirm +3.3 V is supplied to SDRAMs (IC1808 and IC1809) and 132 MHz clock is inputted to pin 38 of each IC.

WL Confirm +3.3 V is supplied to pin 37 of flash ROM (IC1802).

Confirm wireless LAN module (SDIO) is correctly inserted in connector WL1.
